AI MEETS
Physically Based Rendering
SwitchLight 2.0 is our most advanced Video-to-PBR model, designed to generate accurate physically based rendering (PBR) maps—including normal, basecolor, metallic, roughness, and specular maps
—from any type of footage. It is built to empowers creators of all levels with full relighting and compositing capabilities.
SwitchLight 1.0 vs 2.0
SwitchLight 2.0 features a completely new architecture, purpose-built for high-fidelity relighting of any footage. It’s trained on 13× more data, spanning a much wider range of objects and environments. Combined with a 10x larger model size, SwitchLight 2.0 delivers sharper details across diverse scenes, better handling of shadows and highlights, and far more consistent results across frames—even in extreme scenarios where 1.0 struggled.

Quantum Leap: Capture Detail in Challenging Scenarios
SwitchLight 2.0 can capture the details of skin texture, fabric, and facial and scene detail with stunning accuracy. Even in challenging real-world scenarios such as outdoors with strong shadow and highlight, where SwitchLight 1.0 completely fails, 2.0 model faithfully recovers PBR maps.
SwitchLight 2.0 is robust even in challenging scenarios, including motion and complex environments.
SwitchLight 2.0 captures intricate facial details—from eyes to ear lobes—as well as elements like sniper rifle.
SwitchLight 2.0 accurately captures car interiors under harsh shadow and reflections.
SwitchLight 2.0 can accurately recover PBR passes even under challenging backlighting conditions.
Beyond Humans: Understand the Whole Scene
SwitchLight 1.0 required an alpha mask to specify the foreground subject, as it could only generate PBR passes for isolated humans. In contrast, SwitchLight 2.0 requires no alpha input and automatically generates accurate PBR maps for the entire scene
. Trained on a diverse dataset of objects beyond just people, SwitchLight 2.0 enables high-quality relighting and compositing effortless in any environment.
Captures furniture, walls, and floor—enabling full-scene relighting from a single handheld shot.
Generates full-scene PBR maps inside cars, perfect for one of the most common shots in film.
Robust to in low-light, natural environments—capturing detail across grass, foliage, and shaded surfaces.
Understands AI generated footages as well.
Understands rendered characters and animations as well.
Accurately captures terrain and lighting in outdoor scenes, generating full-scene PBR maps.
Image-Based Lighting on Real Footage
Image-Based Lighting (IBL) is a gold standard in 3D rendering—using HDRIs to create realistic, environment-driven lighting with accurate reflections, shadows, and ambient tones. But until now, IBL was limited to CGI, because real footage lacked the necessary PBR data.
SwitchLight 2.0 unlocks this capability by generating high-quality PBR maps—normal, albedo, roughness, and specular—directly from video. You can apply HDRIs to live-action scenes and get physically accurate relighting, just like in Blender or Unreal. No 3D reconstruction—just instant, natural lighting in our real-time web editor or any 3D pipeline.

SwitchLight 2.0 doesn’t stop at people. It understands the entire frame — from background geometry to props, vehicles, furniture, and architecture. This means creators can finally generate relightable and compositable assets not just for characters, but for everything else in the shot.
